Teacher Professional Development
BayouSTEM provides hands-on, Louisiana-centered professional development opportunities for K–12 educators across Region 3. Our workshops connect classroom learning to real-world STEM careers, coastal science, engineering, and emerging technologies.
We are committed to supporting educators with high-quality STEM equipment to enhance hands-on learning experiences in the classroom.
Please complete this request form to reserve equipment for your school or program. Select any available time to submit your request— this time selection is for submission purposes only & does not indicate equipment availability.
Requests are typically approved for up to 2 weeks, based on availability & program demand. Be sure to include all relevant details, including the equipment needed, requested timeframe, delivery or pickup preference, & any training or support requirements.
Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by our team. You will receive a follow-up with confirmation, availability details, & steps.

The Louisiana Department of Education's New Teacher Experience: Summer Kick Off 2026 is a free professional development event designed to welcome and support new teachers across Louisiana. Participants will engage in professional learning, connect with fellow educators, explore resources for beginning teachers, and learn about Louisiana's New Teacher Experience program. Lunch and a welcome bag included.
Who: New teachers in Louisiana (registration may be completed by the teacher or by their school system on the teacher's behalf)

Teacher Professional Development Opportunity:
Changing Course, presented by BTNEP, LA Sea Grant, and BayouSTEM, will be in New Roads, Louisiana hosting a teacher PD around the False River. Participants will:
Learn about river management at the Old River Control Structure
Engage in hands-on activities exploring the Great Flood of 1927
Explore environmental habitats and floodplain systems in central Louisiana
Investigate river dynamics, sediment processes, and hydrologic change
Examine the impacts of engineered river systems on communities and ecosystems
Develop professional contacts for future collaborations and field trips
Receive complimentary lodging, meals and program activities
Earn a participation stipend upon completion
When: June 15–17, 2026
Where: New Roads, Louisiana
Who: 3rd -12 educators interested in: Place-based education, Environmental literacy, STEM integration, and Louisiana river systems.
Teacher Professional Development Opportunity:
Future Engineers, presented by STEM Education LLC, will be at Fletcher Technical Community College on Saturday, MAY 16, from 8:30-4:30 hosting a teacher PD around their Engineering curriculum. Register for an opportunity to experience this immersive, hands-on engineering program!
