About Us

FRC Team #9699, Bayou Crusaders, is the ONLY FRC Robotics team in the Bayou Region. We are a community-based robotics team focused on educating ourselves and others about robotics and STEM.

Where?

How?

Our team was founded in January of 2024. We are composed of 12 students in 8th-12th grade from schools in Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes.

Why?

FIRST — For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology — aims to ensure its programs have lasting and positive impacts on participants across all demographic groups.

Our Mission

We aim to learn, collaborate, and innovate as a robotics team while embracing and fostering a passion for STEM!
to develop our robotics skills, compete with integrity, and inspire others to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM.

Through our efforts, we hope to inspire others to pursue STEM-based activities and education and to make STEM and robotics accessible to all.

Bayou Crusaders have officially completed their 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition Season!

Community and grant sponsorships have greatly benefitted the team throughout the year. The team was able to purchase new and replacement parts, update their software and sensing equipment, and buy the tools needed to produce a quality robot.

Sponsorships also allowed the team to travel to the 2026 Bayou Regional (Kenner, LA), where they ended their day ranked 19th of 53 teams and were the first alternate for event playoffs. Catch the live feed or replay of the tournament!

SPONSORSHIPS

During the off season, Bayou Crusaders host several outreach events in the community to support STEM and robotics education. Students in the Bayou Region will have the chance to learn and develop many new skills alongside the team veterans. These opportunities allow our team to gain vital skills in leadership, public speaking, communication, and teamwork. Be on the lookout for announcements on our social media pages and on the website!
